The Journey Student Rewards from Capital One is tailored to the student who wants to earn cash back while also earning a solid credit history through responsible credit card use and financial management. You can opt to receive free text and email alerts sent to your phone to help you monitor your Capital One student credit card account, and you will earn 1% Cash Back on all purchases; 0.25% Cash Back bonus on the cash back you earn each month you pay on time; 5% Cash Back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel (terms apply).
There is no annual membership fee and cardholders get cash back on all purchases. Accumulated rewards won't expire for the life of the account, and there is no limit to the amount of cashback you can earn. The earned cash can be redeemed by check, or as a credit deposited to your account, with the option for automatic redemptions.
Many students don’t realize how quickly they can spoil their credit – while others also understand that it's also possible to rapidly improve your credit. Since credit history is a journey that starts early in life, this is a good card choice, supported by the kind of innovative online tools and technologies for which Capital One is famous for.
This is a reliable student-oriented credit card with a solid rewards program that pays cash back and also gives bonuses to cardholders who pay their bills on time. Capital One also offers account management tools to help first-time credit card owners.
There are easy ways to earn cash back rewards. There is no limit on the cash back you earn and rewards won't expire for the life of the account. There is also no annual fee and a nice bonus if you pay your bills on time.
The on-going APR for this card is 29.74% (Variable), which isn't a great interest rate; however, those who pay their bill in full each month won't be affected by this rate.

I qualified for this card when I first started college. I didn't even need a Cosigner! I've learned how to effectively manage my money by using this card. I even have a good credit score, now! I highly recommend this credit card to those who are just beginning college and have no experience with credit.
