This card is great for rebuilding credit because it works as a full-feature Mastercard with a credit line based on your security deposit, not your credit score. This card was created with consumers who are building credit in mind. Credit card records will be reported to the major credit bureaus each month. Your minimum credit line starts at $200 and you can go as high as $2,000.
Some great perks to this card include 1% Cash Back, automatic credit reporting, 24/7 online account access and no over limit fees apply. Some fees that come with this card include the annual fee of $39.
Applying is easy and applicants receive instant approval online, by phone or in person. Out of all the First Progress Platinum Secured cards offered, this one lies in the middle for the APR and annual fee.
The Good
- Card holders will enjoy a 25 day grace period before having to pay interest on purchases.
The Not So Good
- If you spend frequently, it may take up to ten business days for a payment to post to your account, which is limiting in your available credit. This card also charges foreign currency transaction fees.
