Reward credit cards for students can provide a simple way to manage all of those college expenses and also get something back for doing so. These credit cards allow you to earn rewards points based on what you spend. For example, you may earn one percent on the purchases you make back in cash or back in rewards that you can redeem for gift certificates, merchandise or travel rewards. Even better, some cards give you more back for specific types of purchases. For example, you may earn one percent cash back most purchases, but five percent catch back on a specific category for the month or quarter which may include gas purchases, grocery purchases, restaurants and so on. Look for those cards that give you the most for the types of purchases you make.
When selecting reward credit cards for students, consider the amount you earn, where you can redeem the points and any restrictions that apply. Some cards limit how much you can earn annually while others restrict the types of purchases that count. Many do offer great offers to get you started including bonus offers, introductory APR rates and even balance transfers. Low APR rates are important for those who carry a balance, but for those that pay off their balance in full each month, be use these credit cards to maximize your rewards. Look for annual fees, too. Many student reward credit cards will help to teach new users how to use credit wisely, by sending text reminders about payments and purchases. Use them to make living at college easier to paying for expenses simple.
